Mommy is sweeping all the snow off my swings and toys

Daddy is instructing a mushing clinic this weekend. I love it!

winter is almost here and I can't wait to make snowballs and snow angels. I was so excited about it when I woke up to the snow. I said Mommy! Daddy!I want to go outside and make snow balls! we have friend here visiting, people here for the musher clinic and people back in the cabins. after this busy weekend, my daddy is going to finish the outside of our big house here at Maclaren. Next year, mommy says I can have my own library in the house and we will have so much more room, my friends can come visit and stay with us for slumber parties and craft parties. right now, I have to go and we're going to make cookies for our friends. bye.

but we both think DADDY is the Greatest daddy in the whole world. Here's our moose for the year! Thanks Daddy for working so hard for us.

I help mommy fold towels for the shower house, I like to help.

When we go to town, I love drinking water from the water fountain.

Mommy and Daddy tell me I have to wait for my birthday cake till I turn 3 but I keep asking them if I can have one sooner...I hope to have a big one with chocolate on it.

Soon we will be moving back to our Paxson house and setting up for winter. It's so pretty there. I like it there, a lot. Mommy will be running dogs around the clock and Daddy is writing for the Anchorage Daily News. Mommy is running many races, all the ones I can think of. That's alot of races. And I get to go to them all. Mommy has many friends and sponsors visiting this winter, too, they want to meet our family and mommy's dogs. I get to use my passport, too in Feb for one of mommy's races, I'm looking forward to that. I was just a baby when I got my passport.

We will ski together once we have snow. I started learning last winter on the frozen Paxson Lake and will be better this winter on my feet. My Birthday is coming up in November and I can't hardly wait to have a little party and cake and balloons with my family and friends and dogs. I really want a bunny.

I will be going to a Montessori class once a week in Delta. My mommy taught the Montessori way many years ago and says she applies this to our daily life already, going to a class once a week will be fun I think because I will meet new friends, too. hope you are having a nice summer or fall season, where ever you are reading this from. your friend,

visiting the Fairbanks Animal Shelter this summer. I love the dogs so much. Mom talks to them, I blow them kisses. We almost came home with a few new dogs, little dogs you can keep on your lap...but we didn't.

Back on the Denali, I love to go for rides with my mom on the atv, we love to hike around, too exploring.

camping in Seward this spring, it was a lot of fun!!!

"Where'd the Mommy go??" Mommy is off into the Caribou Hills hanging on for dear life behind 14 crazy dogs. It is hurry and wait for the rest of us. Jona had a good nap while we sat at the Clamshell Lodge and waited for the first updates from the trail. Teams began rolling through the 30 mile checkpoint at Oilwell pad in just over 2 hours.......leading me to believe that it isn't really a 30. Sure enough, a precision check of a topo map showed me it was actually 24.5 miles---and that might be a bit generous. So,while Jona ate an apple, we watched the updates on the computer in the truck. (Technology can be great, unless, of course, some doughnut-head hacks into your e-mail and pretends to be you...) Dee Dee and her zippy little pink outfit was the fastest thru in 2 hours and a minute. Gary Van Loo, (Osmars kennel), was next at 2:10, Zoya 3rd @ 2:14.----then a slew of folks within the next 15 minutes.
Next stop is Caribou Lake---another 25 miles or so. Will update here when that happens.

Hello Friends,

how are you all? it's friday night and we are going home after having been in town for a visit and picking up mommy's dog food for Iditarod food drops. We came to pick up meat, fish and more Eukanuba. the dogs favorite foods! some of these pictures are from the past few weeks. Mommy ran the copper basin 300 and I have been busy with that, and friends and helping out with everything. I love to help with everything. I can count on my hands now, count to 20 is easy for me and I am advancing through basic sign. Mommy and Daddy say i am advanced for 2, whatever that means but it sounds good, I like the word advanced. the wind is blowing so hard here in Palmer I think the truck might tip over.

Hi friends! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday, I sure did! My family and I had so much fun! We had warm weather and I learned how to ski! We had friends over and our kennel staff and everyone enjoyed good company, home made pies, lots of food and presents, new movies and even the dogs loved it all! I am so thankful! Thankful for my family, friends, books, dogs, art projects, learning to bake, libraries, the new twins next door Paxson and Avery (they are so tiny and so cute!) learning more sign, the art of cooking and baking! We just moved recently from our summer home at Maclaren River to our winter home on Paxson Lake...a few road trips back and forth for our doggies, 2 rabbits Pie and Cocoa and all the stuff... the snow falls and then melts away but I sure wish it would stay, I like to play in it! I love our {packin house} ..that's how I say it! I tell my friends and Nana all about it on the phone.

Yummy, I love powdered donuts..only allowed once in awhile.

There's daddy, mommy and me visiting Horsetail Falls...

We love Valdez so much for so many reasons and it's a place close enough to home where we can make a few visits over the summer and fall seasons. Valdez is special to my mommy and daddy because this is where they got married and this is where daddy commercial fished for Halibut for many several years...we also pick up fish for our dogs here each season, too.
Next time we come to Valdez, it will be in about a month to pick up 18,000-20,000lbs of silver fish for our dogs and we'll bring our boat down for some time on Prince William Sound..Mommy and Daddy want to take me our to Galena Bay where they say I can see lots of black bears on shore. I love the waterfalls, sea gulls, watching black bears eating fish on the shore, camping, hiking and biking.

busy summer days are filled with so many things to do...walk puppies, go for a bike ride, yoga ( I know child pose, cat and dog pose and I want to do tree pose but it's not happening yet) ...play in my Maclaren playground, drink milk, snuggle with Bridle, beg mommy to let me watch Elmo, swing, dig around in sand box, holler Gee-Haw as mommy is driving her team....draw pictures, paint and water the flowers....I love summer.

here we are at the finish line of the Midnight Sun run ..6.2 miles. We did it in an hour and 10 minutes. whaoo for mommy. Alaska mommy's rock!

Hi friends, we're having a fun spring season with so much nice weather. I am 18 months old now and I can do and say so many new things. I know my colors red, yellow, blue and green. I can tell you and show you with one finger that I am 1 years old and I know my left foot from my right one.

We're moved to our Maclaren home and Denali Highway cabins and it's fun out here! We're biking the Denali Highway, growing flowers, making campfires, roasting marshmellow treats, playing with bouncing balls, sand and water tables, running dogs and playing with puppies.

My great Grandma Shirley had to go home early and we all miss her so much.
She took the big plane home on Saturday night. Oh, Grandma Shirley...I miss you!

We can hardly wait until June to go visit but mommy and daddy say we'll have to
manage and I bet we will with all the things going on here!

My daddy is busy working on the Yukon Quest trail, this is a big job and he's been working very hard! My mommy is training and packing for her second Iditarod sled dog race, she too, works long hours. And everyone is going in different directions by the weekend...me and Jackie will stay with my aunt Linda in Fairbanks so mommy and Ania can go race in the Denali Doubles...that's a 270 mile dog race. Mommy has been running 16 dogs at a time but in that race, she will hook up 20! It's a lot of fun with all the dog action around here...but I also enjoy other things we do together, too.

...I like to shopping, making crafts for friends, baking cookies and cakes, eating crackers, helping clean the table, organizing things on shelves, signing, visiting the library, meeting new friends my age, books and coloring, time at Barnes and Noble, the swimming pool at the Marriott in Fairbanks...dancing in the kitchen, swinging in my swing, singing with mommy, sledding up our driveway, playing with family helpers Jackie and Ania, time with Daddy and most of all, evening time with both mommy and daddy and our dogs Ethan and Maudie and sometimes mommy lead dog Bridle....when chores are done and everyone is home..we spend time on the sofa or the floor or in bed just reading, laughing, telling stories...
My Grandma would sing to me everyday. She loved to read to me and we had our routine. Grandma Shirley is the best! She is just the most wonderful and caring grandma any child could ask for. She makes me laugh all the time and we talk and talk and talk and mommy says she spoiled me a little..but that's what grandma's are supposed to do...right??

We sure had so much fun. We had the best Holidays with you here Grandma and all the time spent together was...more than a baby could ask for. And it's likely she will go again. She is running so nice, mommy says.

I am so happy! My great grandma Shirley is coming in just a few weeks and she'll be here until Mommy hits the Iditarod trail in March! We're so excited to have her with us! She will be here for the Christmas Holiday and all the dog races and now my daddy can put the Yukon Quest trail in again this year for the mushers! She will see all the things I learned since our August visit! My grandma can go on visits with us, watch my mommy train dogs, maybe we can get her on cross country ski's this winter..maybe a small dogteam? She can help make the cake and cookies for birthday parties and Valentines...we can make crazy fun artful things together, watch movies together..play fun games..it's Party time! Cheers to my great grandma! She's coming to Paxson town!!

It's been awhile since I posted on this...... Today was a loong training day--60 miles on the 4-wheeler; 36 dogs in 3 teams. The trail is very good for people on ATV's in areas, a little too easy for the dogs. Good for dogs in other sections and will beat you to a frazzle on the rig. We switched off; Zoya did the first run with Jackie and I took Jona for a hike in the woods, showed her some rabbit tracks in the day-old snow. She was sound asleep about a mile into the walk, so I brougt her back to the truck. Zoya stayed the next with Jona on the next run while I took our new hander out. We did the next run together and Jona had a couple of sitters with her. We put the 36 dogs back in the truck for the short run home---then out they come to go back to their houses; the handlers and I do that while Zoya is Mom. Finally all of the outside chores are done and the three of us get to have some family time. Dinner is later than that of most households I am thinking..... and we probably start a little earlier in the day......Jona gets some play time after dinner, oh yeah, I guess at dinner also----some food gets scattered here and there, the two house dogs, Maudie and Ethan are pretty happy with that. I'm not sure who enjoys the after dinner reading time more, Mom or Jona. I do know that Jona is sleeping first---at least tonight----sometimes it is the other way around.

It's nice to be home with my family, ethan and our sled dogs, the wildlife outside our door, the tall mountains and trails. It's so much fun and there's always so much to see. I have new books and we are learning sign language. My mommy and I were counting airplane rides and I've now been on 8 airplane rides in 9 months! That's a lot of flying. My mommy doesn't want to go anywhere but the dog trails for a long time. I love training dogs with my mommy. She says I am helping her train her iditarod team. Lucky me! Daddy helps scoop poop!

HI from the big city---and it's big with tall buildings, tall signs, tall trees, so many cars, bikes, trucks, scooters on the road all at once in a long line together--some are honking their horns too. People are in a hurry here, everyone is running in different directions and one guy was hollering at my daddy to get moving because he wasn't driving fast enough. My mommy says it's a rat race here but she loves the variety of things while we're visiting. A rat race is Different than a dog race mommy says!

I have a NEW car seat and it faces forward--I love it! I can see everything now!

I can see mommy and daddy and the trees, cars and everything!We drove so much today and now I'm so very sleepy. My new car seat is more comfortable for me too, giving me more room to stretch out.

Hi friends,

We have been so busy ever since we got home and now we're flying out tomorrow night, to visit family and friends in WA, MN and WI. I love to visit new places and see all my loved ones but I would rather be home right now. The weather is nice here in the mountains, I sleep better in my own bed, the dogs make me happy, we can run the dogs together and I love helping my mommy make her jewelry in the gift shop and I meet interesting people here too, from all over the world. I can crawl all over now and even stand up when holding onto something like the sofa or mommys legs. I can sing along with mommy and my first tooth is really trying hard to come up.

Mommy and Daddy take me everywhere they go and we do fun things like training dogs together, hooking up teams (I ride on mommy's back) picking berries to make jams, driving to Meiers Lake Lodge and visiting our friends there, 4 wheeling and making picnics with melons, playing games, hiking in the hills and my favorite is time with Ethan, the big fuzz. Here's a few new pictures, I have to go now and help mommy pack but when we get back in a couple of weeks, we're going moose hunting! Enjoy the new pics. Love JoNA!

After my nap today, we went into the pool and floated around. The water was nice, not too hot, not too cold and it was me, mom and grandma Shirley. This was my first time in a pool.

Mommy says we'll play in the pool everyday if we want to, I know it's so hot and the water feels so good. My great aunt is coming tomorrow and maybe she will play in the pool too!

My family has everything here for me! Toys, books, a walker like the one at home, a bouncy thing, rubber duckies, stroller, car seats, the works. Becca, our friend next door brought me canned pears and all kinds of nice stuff. The pears were really yummy.thank you Becca. I love this bouncy thing the most, it makes songs when I jump up and down and I can bounce and bounce and bounce and mommy laughs, Nana says it makes her dizzy to watch me and Grandma Shirley says I'm so funny because it makes her dizzy, too. They laugh and cheer me on! Mom says I look like a little monkey when I jump all over! Thank you Tasha for letting us have this bouncy-bouncy-bouncy!

It was so hot yesterday & today! 97F! I was sweating just sitting still between places we were visiting. Mommy bought a nice pool lounger that is big enough for adults, too. Grandma filled it using the hose today and it should be warm enough tomorrow or the next day. She got us swimming suits and a baby float and here we are in our bathing suits together, but we're going to the beach today and I'm going to play with rocks on the shore while we sit in the water. *Baby's first bathing suit!*
I have to go now, it's my bed time.

Me and mommy go walking in the mornings down to the beach..its so peaceful, before all the cars and trucks get up, before all the people crowd the beach, in the mornings, it's me, mommy, the deer, birds and squirrels!!!!!!
